The home of high-quality garden rooms

FAQ'S

Do I need planning permission?

Most garden rooms do not require planning permission and can be built under permitted development. Usually, if the building is under 2.5m high and under 30sqm in size you can build a garden room under permitted development.

However, this depends on the size, location, and intended use of the garden room. It’s always best to check with your local planning authority

What materials do you use to construct garden rooms?

Our rooms are constructed using Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPS), which are not only cost-effective but also durable, user-friendly, and provide superior insulation compared to industry standard studwork room. The rooms are plastered & painted internally, and we offer a huge range of external cladding options for a fully bespoke finish.

We want to paint & lay the flooring, can you part build the room?

We can leave the room however you want. Some of our clients prefer to do the finishing touches themselves, such as painting or lay flooring. We will adjust the price accordingly.

What type of foundations do we use?

We use ground screws as our go-to foundations. Concrete can be used; however, we have found ground screws to be extremely strong and durable.

How long does it take us to build a garden room?

The installation time can vary depending on the size of the garden room, but generally takes between 1 to 3 weeks.

What areas do we cover?

We work in the South East of England. We cover Hertordshire, Essex, London, Buckinghamshire and the surrounding counties.

During construction, complete protection of your lawn can’t be guaranteed, but we implement numerous measures to minimize damage.

Can I build a garden room in a conservation area without planning permission?

In designated areas such as conservation areas, National Parks, or Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stricter rules apply. You may need planning permission, especially if the garden room is over 10 square meters and within 20 meters of any wall of the house.

However, this depends on the size, location, and intended use of the garden room. It’s always best to check with your local planning authority

Are there any restrictions on the placement of garden rooms?

Yes, garden rooms should not be forward of the principal elevation fronting a highway, and should not be within 2 meters of any boundary with a height exceeding 2.5 meters

How do I maintain the composite cladding?

Composite cladding can be washed with soapy water and a soft bristled brush. It is extremely low maintenance and can be cleaned very easily.

Do you provide plumbing services?
